The Heart Kids
In the US, a child is born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) every 15 minutes. Many kids with a CHD go through lengthy hospital stays and undergo surgeries before they can walk.
In addition to treatments it's imperative for the kids to maintain a positive mindset. CHF works hard to provide programs & support by assisting families with travel, providing Heart Kid friendly summer camps and helping support families to keep spirits high throughout their ongoing struggle.
The Children's Heart Foundation
The Children's Heart Foundation (CHF) was founded in 1996 and is the country's leading organization solely dedicated to funding Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) research. The mission of CHF is to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs.
In Nevada, Sunrise Hospital is currently the ONLY hospital that can properly treat CHD, which means kids and their families are flown in from all over the state for care.
