A SAFE PLACE

Baxter The Dog Books released it’s first book May 2017. 50% of the proceeds for each book package sold at the launch party held at The Lazy Dog Town Square was donated to Noah’s Animal House. Because of our generous sponsors and fans we were able to raise almost $400.

Noah’s Animal House, founded in 2006, is the first full service kennel on the grounds of a domestic violence shelter. NAH provides safe refuge for the pets of woman and children who are escaping an abusive relationship. A partner of Shade Tree, NAH provides food, water, shelter and access to the pets of these families staying at a Shade Tree facility.

Every 15 seconds, a woman is battered by her partner in the United States. In attempt to exercise power and control, the abuser many times threatens to harm or kill the family pet when the victim attempts to flee. Providing an alternative for the entire family to retreat has never been more necessary. NAH 1,400 square foot facility is at 100% occupancy most of the time.

THANK YOU TO OUR GENEROUS SPONSORS

HEART HEROES

Book For A Book (9/20-11/20/18): For every book purchased at an event or from baxterthedogbooks.com, a book was donated to The Children’s Heart Foundation. Because of the generosity of our community, we were able to donate 125 books in year one of the promotion.

The Children's Heart Foundation (CHF) was founded in 1996 and is the country's leading organization solely dedicated to funding Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) research. The mission of CHF is to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs.

In Nevada, Sunrise Hospital is currently the ONLY hospital that can properly treat CHD, which means kids and their families are flown in from all over the state for care.
